1. Who we are

Agee is operated by Agee, LLC (“Agee,” “we,” “us”). Agee is a secure litigation case-management platform for law firms. Agee is a business tool for firms that already have an Agee account. It is not a consumer legal-advice service and is not directed to the general public or to children.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Agee processes information across the Agee platform, which includes our cloud-based legal case-management software and related APIs, the Agee web application, the Agee desktop applications, the Agee mobile application, the Outlook add-in, and connectors that link your Agee account to third-party AI assistants (see Section 7). These are referred to together as the “Services.” Where a specific surface processes data differently, that is noted in the relevant section.

Use of the Services requires an existing Agee account issued by or for your law firm, organization, or other Agee customer (the “Firm”). Your Firm controls the legal-matter data it puts into Agee. Agee processes that data on the Firm’s behalf under its agreement with the Firm and uses it only to provide, secure, support, and improve the Services — except as described in Section 7, where data you request is transmitted to a third-party AI provider that you connect and is then governed by your agreement with that provider.

Signed customer agreements may provide additional or controlling terms for a Firm’s use of the Services.

3. Information we process

The Services are professional work tools. The data below is processed because it is needed to operate the Services, secure the Firm’s tenant, provide support, or diagnose reliability issues. We do not collect data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

The Agee apps do not request or collect precise device location, the device address book, device photos or videos, device health or fitness data, web-browsing history, or the list of installed apps.

Health information in matter content. The statement above about not collecting health or fitness device data refers to data the Services gather about you as a user. Separately, legal-matter content that your Firm uploads or generates may itself contain health information (for example, medical records in a personal-injury matter). Agee processes that matter content on the Firm’s behalf as part of the matter, subject to the Firm’s instructions and agreement.

4. How we use information

Agee uses Services data to: authenticate users and manage accounts; provide case, document, docket, calendar, task, correspondence, billing, voice, and AI-assisted workflows for the Firm; enroll, verify, and revoke trusted devices and login approvals; send security and login-approval notifications; maintain tenant isolation and protect against fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access; troubleshoot, debug, and improve reliability and performance; provide customer support; and comply with legal, security, contractual, and records obligations.

We do not use Firm content, voice content, or diagnostics to sell advertising. We do not sell personal information. Agee does not use customer data to train generalized or cross-customer AI models. Agee’s AI-assisted features process content per request, for your Firm only, to produce your result.

Third-party AI connectors. If you choose to connect a third-party AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to access your Agee data, how that data is used is governed by that provider’s terms of service and privacy policy, not by this policy. By connecting it, you consent to share the data responsive to your requests with that provider, and Agee does not control how that provider uses, stores, or retains it. Most providers let you opt out of having your data used to train their models within the provider’s own account settings, where available.

Connected email accounts. If your Firm connects an email account (such as Gmail or Microsoft/Outlook) to Agee, the synced messages are processed in Agee as Firm matter content, including by Agee’s AI-assistance features. Only firm or organization email accounts should be connected — not personal mailboxes. Your connection and use of those accounts remain subject to the email provider’s terms and to your Firm’s own email, acceptable-use, and confidentiality policies. By connecting an email account, your Firm represents that it has the authority and any necessary consents to connect the account and to allow Agee to access and process those communications.

AI assistance features. Agee includes AI-assisted features that may read your matter content — including cases, documents, dockets, calendar, tasks, and connected emails — to generate suggestions and, where enabled, to draft or update matter records (such as notes, tasks, and goals). These features are enabled by default for your Firm. An authorized firm administrator can set the firm-wide default and turn these features off across all of the Firm’s matters; while they are on, authorized users can also pause or enable them for an individual matter at any time.

5. Service providers and subprocessors

Agee uses infrastructure and service providers (“subprocessors”) that process data on Agee’s behalf to operate the Services. These providers are used to provide the Services and are not permitted by Agee to use Firm data for their own advertising purposes. Our current named subprocessors are published on our Subprocessors page and include Amazon Web Services (hosting, databases, storage, authentication, encryption, and Amazon Bedrock for AI features), Anthropic (the AI models behind Agee’s AI-assisted features, via Amazon Bedrock), Google (Gmail/Workspace email sync when a Firm connects a Google account), and Microsoft (Outlook/Microsoft 365 email and calendar sync when a Firm connects a Microsoft account).

Some device, operating-system, app-store, email, speech, or notification providers may also process data under their own terms when you use those platform-level services.

Gmail / Google API data — Limited Use. When a Firm connects a Google account, Agee’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: Agee uses connected Gmail data solely to provide and improve the user-facing email, matter-linking, search, billing-capture, and drafting-assistance features described in this policy; Agee does not sell or transfer this data, and does not use it for advertising; Agee does not use connected Gmail data to train, fine-tune, or improve generalized or cross-customer AI/ML models; and Agee personnel do not read connected Gmail content except with the Firm’s consent, for security, abuse-prevention, or support, to comply with law, or in aggregated or anonymized form. The same commitments apply to email synced from a connected Microsoft account.

6. Sharing

Agee does not sell personal information and does not share Services data with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Except as described in Section 7 (AI Assistant Connectors), Firm matter data is available only within the Firm’s Agee tenant and to authorized Agee personnel and service providers as needed to provide, secure, support, or troubleshoot the Services. When you enable an AI-assistant connector, data responsive to your requests is transmitted to the third-party AI provider you connect, as described in Section 7.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process; to enforce our agreements; to protect the rights, safety, or security of Agee, our customers, users, or others; or as part of a corporate transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

7. AI Assistant Connectors

Agee offers connectors that let an AI assistant you choose work with your Agee data through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). Examples include Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This section describes how data is handled when you enable and use such a connector.

8. Security

Agee uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Services data, including: secure authentication for sign-in; TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit; at-rest encryption of stored data; server-side tenant isolation for Firm data; database row-level security tied to the Firm; envelope encryption of connected-account OAuth tokens using a managed key service; trusted-device enrollment and revocation controls; diagnostic scrubbing before crash or diagnostic events are sent where detected; and infrastructure controls aligned with Agee’s enterprise security program. See agee.law/security.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We work to protect data using commercially reasonable safeguards and continue improving the Services as risks and requirements evolve.

9. Retention and deletion

Firm matter data is retained according to the Firm’s Agee agreement, configuration, legal obligations, and records-retention needs. Individual users should contact their Firm administrator for access, correction, export, or deletion requests involving Firm-controlled data.

You or your Firm may request access, correction, export, deletion, or deactivation by contacting support@agee.law. Agee will route requests involving Firm-controlled legal matter data through the Firm where required.

Deletion is request-based and processed within the time required by applicable law and our agreements. Deleting data from Agee’s active systems does not affect your actual mailbox: when your Firm requests deletion of email Agee synced from a connected account, Agee removes its stored copy and does not delete or modify any message in your real Gmail or Microsoft mailbox. When data is deleted from Agee’s active systems, residual copies can remain in encrypted, access-controlled backups for a limited period — currently up to roughly 35 days for point-in-time database recovery, plus the retention window of immutable backup snapshots — before they age out, and some information may be retained where necessary for legal, security, compliance, backup, dispute-resolution, or legitimate business-records purposes. Agee does not restore deleted data from backups into its live systems.

Push tokens and trusted-device records may be removed when a trusted device is revoked, when a user signs out and the device is no longer enrolled, or when Agee processes a valid deletion or deactivation request.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and relationship to the Firm, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. Because Agee is usually a processor or service provider for Firm-controlled legal matter data, Agee may need to coordinate requests with the Firm that controls the data.

To make a privacy request, contact support@agee.law. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

11. Data Processing Addendum (Firm customers)

Firm customers (controllers) may request Agee’s Data Processing Addendum by contacting support@agee.law.

12. Children

Agee is a professional tool intended for users 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services after an updated policy is posted means the updated policy applies to future use.
