Delete your Agee account or data

How to ask Agee, LLC to delete your Agee account, or some of the data in it, and what happens after you ask.

Who can ask

  • Any Agee user can ask us to delete their own account and personal data.
  • A firm administrator can ask us to delete the account of a user in their firm, for example when someone leaves the firm.

Deleting the Agee app from your phone or computer does not delete your account.

How to ask

Email support@agee.law from the email address on your Agee account, with the subject line Account deletion request. Tell us your name and your firm. If you only want some of your data deleted, say which data instead of asking to delete the account.

In the Agee mobile app, More > Delete account & data opens this page.

Email a deletion request

What happens next

  1. We confirm the request is yours. We check that the request came from the account holder, or from an administrator of the account holder's firm. If it did not come from the email address on the account, we may ask you for more information before we act.
  2. We tell your firm. Your account is issued through your firm, and your firm controls the case records in Agee, so we let your firm's administrator know about the request.
  3. We disable the account. The account is turned off and signed out of every device, and its trusted devices are revoked, so it can no longer be used to sign in.
  4. We delete or anonymize your personal data. We delete your personal information from Agee's active systems, or anonymize it where a record has to stay (see below).

We aim to finish within 30 days of confirming the request, and always within the time required by applicable law and our agreements.

What may be kept, and why

Some information may be kept after your account is deleted, but only as long as it is needed for that purpose:

  • Your firm's records. Cases, documents, and other matter records belong to your firm. Deleting your user account does not delete them; your firm decides how long to keep them under its agreement with Agee. Records your firm must keep for legal, billing, or audit reasons, such as time entries you recorded, may keep your name.
  • Security and audit logs. Records of sign-ins and changes, kept to protect the platform and meet our security and compliance obligations.
  • Legal obligations. Information we must keep by law, or to resolve a dispute or legal claim.
  • Backups. After data is deleted from our active systems, copies can remain in encrypted, access-controlled backups for a limited period, currently up to roughly 35 days for database recovery plus the retention window of our immutable backup snapshots, before they age out. We do not restore deleted data from backups into our live systems.

If you connected an email account, deleting your Agee data removes Agee's stored copy of the synced email. It does not delete or change any message in your actual mailbox.

Deleting all of your firm's data

If your firm is leaving Agee and wants all of its data deleted, a firm administrator should email support@agee.law. We will work with the administrator on exporting anything the firm needs to keep before deletion.
