Use Agee with your AI assistant

Agee MCP connects your firm's Agee workspace to AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — such as Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT — so they can read and, when you ask, update your cases, documents, dockets, communications, calendar, tasks, and billing.

What is Agee MCP?

Agee MCP is a secure connection — built on the open Model Context Protocol — between your Agee workspace and an AI assistant you choose. Once connected, the assistant can retrieve and act on your firm's Agee data when you ask it to. It works with any MCP-compatible AI app; popular examples are Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Who it's for: authenticated users of the Agee legal platform. You sign in with your Agee/firm account; the connector works only with your firm's data in Agee.

This page explains, in plain English, what the connector does, what data it can access, what is shared with the AI assistant, how permissions work, and what disconnecting and deletion do — so you can make an informed decision before you connect.

Add the connector

In your AI assistant, add Agee as a custom connector / MCP server using this URL, then sign in with your Agee account and approve access:

  1. Connector URL: https://mcp.agee.law/mcp
  2. In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible apps: add it through that app's connector or MCP settings.
  3. Sign in with your Agee account on the secure sign-in page and approve the access screen.

What the connector can do

The connector can both read and change firm data in Agee. It is not read-only.

Read access covers: cases and matters; parties, clients, opposing counsel, judges and contacts; documents and work product (including their extracted full text and short-lived download links); court docket filings; case-related emails (full message text); calendar events and deadlines; tasks; time and billing entries; the case wiki and notes; case analysis, goals and claims; your firm's user directory; and firm activity history.

Write access (creating or updating) covers: cases, documents/work product, parties and contacts, calendar events, tasks, draft time entries, wiki notes, claims, case goals, and case-analysis actions.

The connector cannot send email (email access is read-only) and has no access to passwords or payment instruments. It also includes a tool that reads public web pages (for example, public court and clerk pages); that tool refuses private/internal addresses and signed or login-protected links.

Changes you make through the assistant

Write actions taken through the connector are recorded in Agee's audit trail and AI activity feed, and are designed to be reviewable and reversible (for example, versioned or archived rather than hard-deleted). Your firm can also require an explicit confirmation step for specific write tools; where that is enabled, a change is staged and must be confirmed before it is applied. Review changes the assistant makes, just as you would review any work product.

Terms that apply when you connect

By connecting your Agee account to an AI assistant through this connector, you authorize Agee to share the data responsive to your requests with that AI provider, and you acknowledge that your use of the assistant — and any data you send to or receive from it — is governed by your own agreement with that provider, in addition to Agee's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For example:

Once data is sent to the AI assistant, it is processed by that provider under your account with them, and Agee does not control the provider's processing.

If your firm syncs other services into Agee

If your firm connects an email account (Gmail or Microsoft/Outlook) to Agee, those messages are synced into your Agee workspace, and the assistant can read that synced email data through the connector the same way it reads any other case data — when you ask and you are authorized to see it.

The assistant does not connect directly to Gmail, Microsoft/Outlook, or any other outside service. Through this connector it only works with data that already lives in your Agee workspace. The billing tools work with your firm's internal Agee time entries and invoices; they do not read from or write to any outside accounting system.
